Monoblock Compact Annular Blowout Preventer (BOP) – Model MC

The monoblock compact annular blowout preventer (BOP) model MC is designed for drilling and workover operations to prevent the uncontrolled release of oil, gas, or drilling mud from the wellbore. Combining both ram and annular sealing mechanisms, this BOP provides a compact and efficient solution for well control in high-pressure environments.

Features & specifications

  • Dual Sealing Mechanisms: The BOP features both ram and annular sealing mechanisms, providing reliable well control during both normal operations and emergency situations.
  • Hydraulic Actuation: The BOP is hydraulically operated, with double-acting hydraulic pistons ensuring fast and secure closure of both ram and annular seals. Hydraulic fluid pressures between 1000 psi and 1500 psi are recommended for operation.
  • Self-Feeding Rams: The ram packers are self-feeding with a large rubber reserve, providing long-lasting sealing performance. Wellbore pressure assists in increasing the sealing force in case of hydraulic pressure loss.
  • Easy Maintenance: Rams can be easily replaced through the outlet door, simplifying maintenance and reducing downtime. The annular packer can also be replaced without contaminating the hydraulic system, thanks to the design of the opening chamber head.
  • Compact and Durable Design: The BOP body features studded flanges with complete studs and nuts for the upper and lower connections. A single outlet with a 2 1/16″ studded connection is provided with a blind flange.
  • Manual Locking Devices: Manual locking devices are included as standard, complete with handwheels and extensions for the rams, ensuring secure closure even in case of hydraulic pressure failure.

Sizes and Pressure Ratings:

  • Available in 7 1/16” bore size, with a maximum working pressure of 3000 psi (210 bar).

Applications:

  • Drilling and Workover Operations: Suitable for well control during both drilling and workover operations, preventing blowouts and ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • High-Pressure Environments: Designed to operate in high-pressure environments with wellbore pressures up to 3000 psi.

Materials:

  • Available in TRIM STANDARD for water- or oil-based drilling fluids.
  • Available in TRIM NACE for environments containing H₂S, in compliance with NACE-MR-01-75 standards.

Dimensions and Weight:

  • Dimensions: L x W x H = 2150 x 1200 x 1200 mm
  • Total Weight: Approx. 2200 kg
  • BOP Weight: 1915 kg
